The Marzelle Hill Transition Center is a non-secure residential unit for youth who do not require detention in a secure facility. It is often used as a transition center for those who are waiting for a permanent placement, and they are not necessarily in detention for legal reasons. It offers a wide range of services for all of the juveniles who find themselves in the facility, and they are able to learn new skills and develop coping strategies as well as receive full medical care, dental care, and mental health support through the use of the professional on staff and who are contracted with the location. It is located within the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center and is used for temporary or short term housing only, offering a safe space for youth who are waiting for a home study or who have special needs that require additional attention and support for a period of time. Recreational opportunities are provided alongside psychological supports and assessments, educational services, and healthy meals. Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The Marzelle Hill Transition Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Marzelle Hill Transition Center standards will be disposed of.
