Along with medical and dental care, there is a crisis intervention that will assist with all immediate needs and respond to youth in crisis, a psychological assessment and care plan for any support needed, and education is provided in the onsite classrooms during the week to prevent any student from falling behind their class. Strict schedules are maintained and for those who are not familiar with strictly structured environments this is a large adjustment for them. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The Dr. Jerome McNeil Jr. Detention Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
