About the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility

Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility (CFCF) is the largest one of five county jails in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. It is located in the northeast section of the city of Philadelphia, and it opened in 1995 and currently has 3,000 inmate beds. The address is 7901 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136. To reach the jail by telephone, call 215-685-7843.

The name of this Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility references two last names of officers who were killed while they were working, Deputy Warden Robert Fromhold and Wardent Patrick Curren. They were both stabbed to death by an inmate in 1973 at Holmesburg Prison, a prison in Philadelphia that was shut down in 1995.

  • To visit an incarcerated person at the Detention Center (DC), Alternative & Special Detention Center (ASD), or ASD MOD III, go to the Riverside Correctional Facility (RCF) visiting lobby.
  • Each inmate is allowed one 1-hour visit per week.
  • ALL VISITS MUST BE SCHEDULED ONLINE
  • 1 Adult and 1 Child, (6 months to 17 years of age) can visit with a parent or guardian. The adult must provide proof of custody or a birth certificate.

  • Walk-ins are not permitted.

The devices are similar to common handheld tablets, but are made exclusively by GettingOut, a GTL / Viapath company.
