Orange County Juvenile - Youth Guidance Center Information

Orange County has three main juvenile facilities that fall under their supervision. This 125 bed facility is made up of 5 housing units and it offers specialized treatment for substance abuse and transitional services. Both male and female youth are housed here and may be of any age between 12 and 25 years old. There are two programs for sobriety, one for males and one for females, and each youth will be treated for substance abuse concerns. Programs are intended to use cognitive behavior interventions to assist in growth emotionally, behaviorally, and vocationally in order to assist the young offenders to have successful lives after their release. Transition assistance is present to help them reintegrate into their community, and social interactions and developing social skills are encouraged throughout the program. Regular school education is provided throughout their rehabilitation, and they will remain up to date with their classes to easily return to their school. There are also college courses available, both online and offsite. To gain work experience there are several opportunities within the facility including culinary arts, auto detailing, laundry, housekeeping, building maintenance, carpentry and landscaping.
