Juvenile Camp Vernon Kilpatrick Information

Campus Kilpatrick is a large campus that includes several housing units surrounding an area for outdoor recreation and a set of offices. The site has been the first location to launch the L.A Model of juvenile rehabilitation and is a combined effort of the Office of Education, the Probation Department, and other county departments, to rehabilitate young offenders in a safe space that has a positive environment focused on healing, responsibility and therapy. Youth who have completed the program considered it to be an opportunity to learn how to be a part of a community and to interact as such. Intensive planning has created routines that include ongoing education, physical and mental health, activities both during the day and into the evenings, and programs to help build strong community members with productive and successful futures. Success in this program may result in it’s implementation into other facilities in the county and throughout the state. Treatment is offered in a small group setting, and focuses on care and growth rather than control. Mail: Camp Kilpatrick 427 S. Encinal Cyn. Rd. Malibu, CA 90265 Phones: Youth will have access to phones each evening to contact their parents or legal guardians, but other outgoing calls are not permitted and incoming calls are not accepted for security reasons.
