Camp Glenn Rockey is one of the camps that is part of the system within California, and it houses juveniles who are assigned to a camp program rather than juvenile hall. There are three lengths of programs offered by the camps, from 5 months to 9 months depending upon their progress, behavior, the severity of the charges, and their other needs. Each will have a room, bedding and clean laundry, access to outdoor exercise, recreation time, healthy meals and medical care, as well as mental health care and dental visits. School is mandatory and classes are held every weekday by the local school board. Counselling is offered for things such as trauma healing, anger management, and behavioral therapy is provided to encourage positive behaviors and choices. Students will be given the opportunity to volunteer, do work for the community, and participate in group activities that will help to improve social skills and interactions.
