Juvenile Camp Afflerbaugh Information

Camp Afflerbaugh is a part of the camp program for juvenile offenders throughout the area. It offers programs that are based upon responsibility, behavior therapy, social enrichment, community participation, and education. Each of the programs offered are designed to assist youth in improving their skills and behaviors, including anger management, substance abuse treatments, responsibility for themselves and their choices, goal setting and life planning. Programs range from 5-7 months, 7-9 months, or 6-9 months. Youth are assigned to the camp that is best suited to their age, gender, charges, needs, history, and behavior. Both medical and mental health needs are addressed and cared for, the laundry is maintained, meals are prepared with a balanced diet and to meet all nutritional needs. The facility allows for youth to call their parents or guardians, to have visits with their parents, and to learn and grow their social skills through recreational opportunities as well as programs designed to provide guidance. Youth are housed in an individual room and will have that space for sleeping and during lockdown times, but will have access to the dayrooms, classrooms, libraries, and recreational spaces throughout the day, based upon their individual schedule and the schedule of the camp they are assigned too.
