Baltimore Pretrial Complex Inmate Search
The Baltimore Pretrial Complex maintains an average of 2000 offenders in custody on any given day. The Baltimore Pretrial Complex has a monthly turnover of 40% of their inmate population, another 30% turnover every 90 days, another 20% every six months, and approximately 10% stay incarcerated between six and twelve months. Every year Baltimore city law enforcement agencies arrest and detain approximately 233,120 offenders.

⇓ Learn more ⇓ Show lessThe Baltimore city Division of Pretrial Detention and Services has several facilities that fall under its control, including the Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center, the Chesapeake Detention Facility, the Metropolitan Transition Center and this, the Baltimore Pre-trial Complex.
Along with operating the detention and jail location with and safety for all inmates and staff the main focus, but the department also engages with the communities to provide services making it easier for inmates to integrate into their community upon their release.
Other areas of the program also work in investigation, case management, diversion, and detention is the last consideration for when all other attempts at behavioral changes have failed.

Each of the detainees who are arrested will process through the central intake building before being transferred to their housing assignment, which is determined based upon their charges, past charges, and their behavior within detention centers.
Pretrial manages the programs, housing, and programs for those who have been arrested and charged but have not yet had their court date and remain unsentenced. During this time, they are provided with assessments for medical needs and health requirements, as well as a mental health assessment to determine any treatment or care that is required, and they will be provided with the necessary treatments, all medication, and healthy meals within hygienic living conditions.
Educational programs support any inmates who did not finish high school or who wish to engage in further education, along with others for recreational programming and activities, life skills classes and programming, along with chances and opportunities to improve social skills. Once an inmate has been to their trial and received a sentence they will be housed in the appropriate location within the complex and will be able to continue with the programs that they have entered into, continuing with all treatment or counseling that they have begun.

...and it will then be checked for contraband, with it requiring a full return address and no other markings or decorations on the envelope.
Phones are available in each housing unit, with an account /city-and-county-jails/maryland/baltimore-city/baltimore-pretrial-complex/inmate-phone-contact inmates are able to place outgoing calls each day but are unable to accept incoming calls.
To visit an inmate, it will be necessary to know their exact housing location, including housing unit, and their department of corrections number, then a visit may be scheduled through phone or email at least 24-48 hours before the requested visit and up to one week in advance. Visiting hours are available during the weekend and a few days during the week, with the days and times varying depending upon the assigned housing of the inmate.
After being arrested, the offender is brought to the Baltimore Pretrial Complex for booking, which is the detailed process of identifying, classifying, deciding on charges, and whether the person will either be released on their own recognizance, allowed to be released on bail, or moved into the jail until their court date.
The first thing every newly arrested person must do is close their mouth. Everything an offender says may be used against them, so the best thing to do is remain silent when questioned about the arrest and what led to it.

News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
Books
The Baltimore Pretrial Complex allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Baltimore Pretrial Complex standards will be disposed of.
