Duval Regional Juvenile Detention Center Information

The Duval Regional Juvenile Detention Center is a regional facility that serves the county of Duval, Clay, and Nassau. It has a total of 95 beds that are shared and used by each of the counties, allowing for a larger facility with better security and improved programs over what could be offered by each individual county. During their detention youth will have a set routine each day, with the weekdays beginning with hygiene and breakfast, school, and then programs and recreation time. Mental and medical health care will be provided, and all addictions and anger management issues will be addressed. Each of the youth will find that their individual needs are met in a way that allows them to leave with improved life and social skills, and they will be better prepared for success. Mail: Mail is one of the main ways that the juveniles may maintain contact with their family and friends, and they are permitted time to both read and write letters. Each will be read, possibly censored or refused if they contain contraband or conversations of illegal activity. 1241 E 8th Street Jacksonville, FL 32206-4099 Phones: Outgoing phone calls are allowed to parents or guardians, but other numbers may be limited or denied. Visiting: Visits are important for the success of the program as well as for the mental health of the youth, so there are visiting hours available each week.
