While being held in the William F James Boys Ranch there is access to many programs and services to assist youth in their rehabilitation. Rather than focus on punishment only, there are consequences for negative behavior but also rewards for positive behavior. School classes occur each day Monday to Friday and attendance is mandatory for all those who have not completed high school. Programs will also focus on mental health, including treatment for addictions or substance abuse, anger management, group sessions and individual sessions, and physical activity or recreation. Students will learn responsibility, respect, and decision making skills along with life skills and employable skills. The goal of the ranch is to return these youth to society as productive members of society who reintegrate well into their community. Mail: Mail is permitted through the US Postal Service only, must meet all requirements, and cannot contain any contraband or topics that are not permitted. Students may not send or receive mail from others who are in other facilities, anyone who is on probation, or someone who is listed on a no contact order with the student. Phones: Phone calls are permitted, outgoing only, and they must be to approved phone numbers. Parents and guardians are permitted to receive phone calls from residents in the facility. Visitation: Pods C, E, and F visit Sundays 10am to 12pm, and B, D, and G pods on Sundays from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
