Inmate at this jail can have newspaper subscriptions as long as they are mailed directly from the publisher and include all of the above required information.
Magazines
This jail allows inmates to receive magazine subscriptions that are mailed directly from the publisher to the jail. Magazines cannot contain nudity, pornography, obscenity or the promotion of drug use or violence.
Books
Books can be sent to inmates but must be soft-cover. In addition, they must come directly from the publisher, not a bookstore or a private party.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Elmwood Women's Correctional Complex standards will be disposed of.
Hard cover books will not be accepted by the jail due to their potential to be used as a weapon.
