Collin County Juvenile Detention Information

Children who are placed in the Collin County Juvenile Detention Center by the court, or who are waiting for their court date, are provided with the tools to become positive and productive members of their community. Upon admittance, one half hour visit is provided for the parents, and the juvenile will be allowed to call and tell them where they are to arrange that visit. Along with both pre-adjudication cells and post-adjudication cells there are two segregation beds, two medical isolation beds, 2 new libraries, storage areas, and enclosed recreation yard outside, updated kitchen, and other upgrades. Mail: Parents may provide a list of people who are unable to contact their child via mail, and short term stays do not permit pictures while long term may have two pictures. The full name and address for both the sender and receiver are required. A nurse is onsite 12 hours of the day and on call around the clock, with all emergency needs or recommendations from the nurse result in transportation to the Regional Medical Center. Counseling, both group and individual, is provided, along with substance abuse counseling and anger management, after school hours on the campus. Only visitors who are on the approved visitor list and are over the age of 18 will be allowed to visit. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The Collin County Juvenile Detention allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Collin County Juvenile Detention standards will be disposed of.
