Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center Information

Originally built in 1994 the Nashville Youth Campus for Empowerment houses the juvenile offenders from Davidson County. The current facility houses an average of 35-40 juveniles each day and offers a secured space within the safety of the campus that also holds the courthouse, social services, parenting resources, and additional programming for the community. Due to the growth of the city and the surrounding communities a new facility is currently being built that will expand the pretrial detention center. It will continue to house the juvenile offenders who are under the age of 18, at which time they will be transferred to the adult courts and the adult detention facility for an average of 14 days. As a pretrial center only there are no long stays, sentences are served at other locations, and all services and needs are provided. The new facility is set to finish in 2026 and include the Davidson County Juvenile Court and pretrial housing, an assessment center for youth in crisis, meeting rooms, courtrooms, exchange facility for custodial visits, and more. The goal of the campus is to encourage healthy relationships and support families throughout the community.
