About the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex

The Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex in Ashland can accommodate 575 inmates. Originally built in the early 1990s, the jail's centrally located gym has been converted into classrooms and storage space. Plans are underway to begin to construct a new jail facility in 2024 or 2025, with a specific focus on adding classrooms to provide inmates with trade learning opportunities, aiming to reduce recidivism.

The complex is made up of the main jail, the annex and the work release center.

Attorney visitation is permitted from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., excluding designated lunch and dinner times. Attorneys must present a Bar Card (Blue or White) and a valid State Driver's License upon arrival. They must sign the attorney visitation logbook before visiting their clients. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
