⇓ Learn more ⇓ Show lessOperated by the Sheriff’s Office, the Bulloch County Jail is a small detention facility that is located within the Sheriff’s Department and works in conjunction with all law enforcement in Bulloch County.
As the only local jail it houses all of the offenders who are arrested in the surrounding communities, both male and female with misdemeanor offences up to felonies. Each of the inmates is assessed upon arrival and will be assigned to a cell in a housing unit that best fits their history of incarceration, medical and other needs, gender, and the seriousness of the charges that they are facing.
As a short term housing option, those who are sentenced to extended sentences may be transferred to an alternative facility, while those who remain will receive full services with fewer programs than some of the larger or long term options.
During any term of incarceration each inmate will be provided with all medical care, basic or emergent dental care, and the mental health support they need to overcome obstacles to a productive and comfortable future.
Counseling is available, and along with health meals there is time for exercise and recreation to support both physical and mental health.
It is also encouraged that inmates remain in contact with their friends and family, and remaining in a facility in their own community facilitates this through mail, phone calls, and visits.
To fund any commissary, hygiene needs, phone calls, and messages between inmates and family or friends an account can be funded for them.
Phones ae available during the day only and are unable to receive incoming calls.
Mail is delivered by the post office to a third party where it is checked for contraband and scanned to be delivered digitally to inmates, with the originals being returned to sender or destroyed.

After being arrested, the offender is brought to the Bulloch County Jail for booking, which is the detailed process of identifying, classifying, deciding on charges, and whether the person will either be released on their own recognizance, allowed to be released on bail, or moved into the jail until their court date.
The first thing every newly arrested person must do is close their mouth. Everything an offender says may be used against them, so the best thing to do is remain silent when questioned about the arrest and what led to it.

3. The offender is allowed to be released after paying a specified bond or bail. Call 912-764-8888 to get the exact amount.

There are two options for putting money on an inmate's books:
Choice 1 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Bulloch County Jail uses CommissaryDeposit.com to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.
Choice 2 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.
**Call 912-764-8888 first to ask Bulloch County Jail if this option is still available.
