Cache Valley Youth Center Information

The Cache County Juvenile Division has a strong focus on rehabilitation for youth without the requirement of detention, with a maximum security facility for those cases where it is unavoidable. Diversions are used to treat the youth within the home with probation, in home interventions and programs for building new skills, community service, counseling, and fines, then a community placement is attempted where the youth is removed for treatment then reintegrated, and the last step when those fail is the secure confinement in the local detention center. Youth may remain in the center until they are 21 if they are assigned there when they are under 18. Utah juvenile court is a civil court rather than criminal court, and youth are not provided with a conviction but rather are committed civilly to rehabilitation efforts. The Cache Valley Youth Center also houses youth 10-18 who are in need of crisis intervention, runaways, and respite care for 24 hours when necessary. Counselors are available around the clock for emergent or immediate needs, and support is offered for all of the youth who find themselves in the faciity for any reason, with the focus of providing tools for creating a healthy and productive future. Mail: 2051 North 600 West Logan, UT 84321 Any youth who remains in the facility for an extended time will be provided with guidance and regulations surrounding their mail. Phones: Access to phones is provided for contact with care providers, parents, and guardians.
