Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center has a focus on the core values of knowledge, integrity, maturity and compassion. Each of these are things that each juvenile will work on as they go through their program at the center, which will be chosen for them based upon their assessment after intake. The top capacity for the location is 278 and it accepts both male and female juveniles who are being charged with either what would be a misdemeanor or felony for an adult. Those who are over 18 will be moved to an adult facility and will be charged in criminal court, while those who are over 10 and under 18 will be charged and serve any sentence or pre-adjudication time in the juvenile facility. San Antonie Independant School District provides all educational services for the residents, and they will receive dental, medical, and mental health services through the University Health System – Detention Health Care Services. A medical section is maintained where treatments are offered onsite including physical exams, suicide prevention observation, medical observation, respiratory isolation, and a dental room to offer full services to each of the youth who are in the care of the facility. NOTE:  This Schedule is for visitation with an inmate at the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center.  Video Visitation, if you are not using your own device from home, is located at the TouDouze Video Visitation Center, 222 S. Comal, which is 2 blocks south of the Main Jail.

  • Whether you are visiting an inmate at the jail, from the video visitation center, or by video from your home, you MUST first register for an ICSolutions account to schedule a visit.
  • If you need help with registration, scheduling, technical issues, or troubleshooting a problem, call ICSolutions at 888-646-9437, not the jail.

VISITATION GUIDELINES & RULES

  • Don't bring anything into the visit.
  • No more than (2) adults and (1) minor child or (1) adult and (2) minor children per visit.
  • All visitors 17 years or older, must be registered and possess a valid government issued photo id, such as a driver’s license, state ID card, or military issued ID. 
  • Visits are 20 minutes.
  • When scheduling a visit, list the correct number of children and adults, no substitutions may be made the day of the visit.
  • A visitor can only visit the same inmate once per day.
  • All cancelations should be completed 24 hours in advance of the visit, or it may count as a completed visit.
  • Visitors should arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled visits to check in but no more than 1 hour early.
  • If you are late, your visit will be cancelled.
