⇓ Learn more ⇓ Show lessINTERESTING FACTS about the Sevier County Jail Annex: The aluminum sided Annex, which could easily be mistaken for a second class warehouse, first opened in 2008 with an inmate capacity of 168. It was expanded in 2010 and added another 188 beds, bringing the new total capacity to 356 beds.
The more physically appealing brick building that houses the Sevier County Jail opened in June, 1991, and after an expansion in 2002, the Sevier County Jail (Main) now has a capacity of 272. The Annex has an emergency response team that responds to emergencies within the facility, with the goal being to be able to diffuse situations without the use of lethal force.
Indigent inmates are still allowed a minimum number of calls, messages, and commissary items per month.
Visitation hours for the Annex is Monday thru Friday from 8:00AM - 6:00PM. The actual time an inmate can have a visitor is based on his bunk location. They are allowed one 60 minute visit per week, PLUS unlimited video calls and text messaging (for a fee) from family and friends.
Remote Visitation, in the comfort of your own home is available for most facilities. Visitation hours may be dependent upon the sex of the person and, also dependent upon the section of the facility in which they are housed.
You must submit a picture and government photo ID for facility approval prior to visiting someone in our facility and there is a strict protocol that must be followed or privileges can be revoked.
If you are doing in person visitation, visitors are subject to search. Dress appropriately. If too much skin is showing, you may be refused visitation rights.
