It provides space for up to 72 juveniles offenders and accepts both male and female juveniles between 11 and 18 years of age. Housing is determined by the gender, age, history, and any past incarcerations. Each housing unit will function as a group throughout the day and will attend classes together, eat meals together, and enjoy recreational time. During their stay there will be many opportunities for education, both academic and life and social skills. A medical team will provide all necessary medical care, while mental health professionals will provide counseling, rehabilitation services, and other care. Family are encouraged to remain in contact via mail, phone calls, and visits, providing the youth with a support system upon their release. Classes will operate at the time schedule of the public schools, and those who remain for weeks will be able to return to their classes without falling behind.
