About the Chesterfield County Work Camp
Holding up to 400 detainees, the Chesterfield County Work Camp houses those who are arrested in the area and are qualified for the work program. It is operated by the Chesterfield County Sheriff Office and they are responsible for the safe keeping of the building as well as the safety and security of the inmates. With a full kitchen and laundry facilities, a commissary, and several housing units, the camp functions as a small community of its own. Phone calls from inmates to their friends and family are permitted on a daily basis and are not limited in any way. These phone calls are monitored, unless they are to a lawyer, and may be recorded. Commissary is available to all inmates and funds can be added in the lobby either during visits or during business hours from 8am until 5pm. Anyone who has not yet been sentenced will have visits through the Securus Technology video visitation system, and can book an appointment during the specific inmates approved visitation schedule at securustech.net. Inmates who have been sentenced are allowed to have in person visits every day and those with last names A through L are from 10am until noon, with those who have last names M through Z will have visits from 12pm to 2pm. As the facility is operated under the umbrella of the Chesterfield County Detention Center, they have access to the same medical care and attention, and will receive three meals each day that are nutritionally balanced, as well as opportunities to further their education and skills.

Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The Chesterfield County Work Camp allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Chesterfield County Work Camp standards will be disposed of.
