About the Chesterfield County Detention Center
The Chesterfield County Detention Center has office hours from 8 am until 5 pm during the weekdays, and is closed on the weekends. If you have a loved one who is incarcerated at the facility, the number to contact the main or booking lines is 843-623-3385. While offenders are incarcerated at this location the staff is aware of the difficulty that it causes for family and loved ones, and will focus on maintaining a safe and encouraging environment where inmates can build new skills and become a part of the community they are in. Families are encouraged to remain in contact with inmates through phone calls, visits, and even sending letters through the mail. This contact helps to keep the support system in place to help the offenders to achieve success after they have been released from jail. Visitors may also bring money to be deposited to the inmates account for purchases and phone usage, and their prescription medication to any visit. To visit an inmate who is pretrial a video call system is used that is operated by Securus Technology, which can be accessed through their website at securustech.net. Each inmate will have a preapproved schedule that visits can be booked for, and this is available only by logging into the system to book. Visits must be scheduled through the system, and inmates can check in at the time of the visit. Inmates who have been sentenced can have on site visits once a week, with those who have last names A-L scheduled 10-12pm and those with last names M-Z from 12pm to 2pm. All inmates will have regular access to phones so they can make outgoing calls each day, and both visits and phone calls are monitored for any discussion of illegal activities and mail with contraband is unable to be provided to the inmate and will be returned to sender or destroyed.
