Dobbs Youth Development Center Information

Dobbs Youth Development Center The Dobbs YDC, or Youth Development Center, was closed in late 2017. It underwent renovations and was repurposed and replaced by the Lenoir Youth Development Center. The new center is safer, houses more youth, and does so in a more efficient way. As a development center it is one of the most secure facilities for juveniles, and housed those who were waiting for court, who required the most intensive sanctions, and provided intense treatments for those who require it. Only those who are adjudicated for violent offenses or other serious offences, or those who have a long history of delinquency, will be committed to the new Lenoir facility.
