The St. Clair County Juvenile Center that was located in Port Huron, Michigan, was closed in 2005. It offered a full range of services for up to 22 juveniles at one time, all who would be in grades 6 through 12. Youth are now held at the St Clair County Sheriff’s Office and Intervention Center. This location has both the intake and housing units for both adults and juveniles, in two fully separate sections of the facility. The juvenile detention area has 70 beds and offers many support services including a full kitchen and food services, an assessment center, communications, administration, juvenile programs, and a treatment center. It also houses the sheriff offices, and a 384 bed adult detention center.

Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The St. Clair County Juvenile Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the St. Clair County Juvenile Center standards will be disposed of.
