⇓ Learn more ⇓ Show lessFalling under the management and control of the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, the 325-bed St. Martin Parish Correctional Services houses those arrested and charged with either a misdemeanor or a felony and they will remain at this location until their trial or as they serve a short sentence usually under one year.
During incarceration the staff and organization are responsible for the safety of the community, the inmates, other staff, and any visitors, as well as the care of all inmates.
To provide full care all inmates are given clothing, bedding, laundry services, healthy meals every day, access to accounts for commissary items and other needs that can be funded by friends and family.
Opportunities to improve and develop skills, recreational time, and exercise are all provided throughout any length of incarceration. Inmates are able to remain in contact with their friends and family through mail, phone calls, and visits, with mail being sent to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Services directly.
Upon arrival mail will be inspected for a full return address, contraband of any kind, and then given to the inmate.
Phones are useable only for outgoing calls during daytime hours, and no phone calls are able to be made to the inmates in their housing areas.
Each inmate will be able to provide a list of 10 adults who are able to visit, and only these people will be permitted to visit during the approved visiting hours.
This visitor's list is updated every 6 months and visiting hours depend upon the housing unit.

Tuesday G/H holding, and isolation are 6pm-7:30pm, dorm 2 is 7:30pm-9pm, Wednesday A block is 6pm-6:45pm, B block 6:45pm-7:30pm, and C block 7:30pm-9pm. Thursday D block 6pm-7:30pm, F block 7:30pm-9pm, and Saturday working inmates 1pm-4pm.
Once arrested, the person is taken to St. Martin Parish Correctional Services for booking, a process that confirms identity, assesses charges, and determines if they will be released on their own recognizance, posted for bail, or held until court.
Staying silent is key during this process, as anything spoken can be used as evidence in court. It’s best to wait for legal counsel before responding to questions.
