It provides for all of the housing needs for offenders who are arrested on either misdemeanor or felony charges both as they wait for their trial and as they serve their sentence from the cities of Hamilton, Marysville, Bussey, Harvey, Swan: the non-incorporated villages of Tracy, Otley, Columbia, Pershing and Attica, and all other unincorporated areas of Marion County.
With ample parking and 3 buildings, the Marion County Jail and Sheriff’s Office provide services to the entire county and have both inside and outdoor recreation areas, laundry, meals, and medical care as well as mental health care.
An account is created for each offender as they finish the booking process and friends or family can add money to the account, allowing inmates to order commissary, phone cards, and more. Add money to the account of an inmate at the kiosk that is located in the lobby of the jail, or online or you may purchase commissary items to be delivered.
Phones are active only during daytime hours and can only make outgoing calls, with no way to call in and speak to an inmate.
Visits are also conducted and booked online and onsite visits occur Thursday and Sunday 5:30pm-9pm for 20 inmates, with remove visits occurring on each of the other days of the week 6am-11pm.

Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

The Marion County Jail allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
