About the Jasper County Jail

Sharing a building with the Sheriff’s Office and having it’s own entrance street on Law Center Drive, the 36-bed Jasper County Jail provides incarceration services to Jasper County and the towns and cities in its jurisdiction.

Offenders who are arrested in the county on either misdemeanor or felony charges will be held at this location as they wait for their trial, while they wait to make bail, or while they serve a sentence of less than one year. Longer sentences or those on serious charges may be transferred to an alternative facility.

Staff at the main jail number of 641-791-7081 are able to answer questions and concerns, while messages for inmates can be left at 515-497-4200 after creating an account online. This account also provides inmates will access to the funds to pay for their outgoing phone calls.

The Jasper County Jail has contracts in place to ensure full access to medical care including nurses and doctors who are experienced in working with jails and the concerns that are most often seen in that setting. Jail doctors will also determine what prescriptions are safe and able to be used during incarceration and which are not, providing all medications for each inmate.

Inmates are able to make phone calls using the money on their commissary account, or family and friends can create an account to allow the inmate to call that number on a prepaid basis.
