Eastman Youth Development Campus Information

Treutlen County accesses the housing and services of the Eastman Youth Development Campus for the housing of their young offenders who require ongoing or extended treatment for any mental health or rehabilitation needs. Youth who are arrested and charged as juveniles may find they are housed here even if they are young adults and will remain until the end of their commitment up until age 21.

It offers full rehabilitation services and treatments, and the campus is similar to a college campus with a full commercial kitchen providing balanced meals every day, laundry services, classroom areas with classes and computers as well as libraries, recreational facilities both indoor and out, sporting facilities, space to exercise, common areas for reading or playing games along with homework and other tasks. Behavioral therapy and both group and individual counseling is provided as needed.

Vocational training and both volunteer and work opportunities provide residents with skills and experience to find lasting employment to support themselves after their commitment has ended. To give back to the community some tasks such as landscaping and care for public property may be conducted by those in the facility.

Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Eastman Youth Development Campus standards will be disposed of.
