For 25 years, prior to 2020, the old 200-bed jail and sheriff's office was located off of Dallas-Acworth Highway in the northeast of Dallas. The new $77 million jail and sheriff's office is adjacent to the county courthouse. The jail encompasses 133,000 square feet while the sheriff's office is another 58,000 square feet. The entire facility is part of a 25-acre site in Dallas bounded by the courthouse on U.S. Hwy. 278, the former WellStar Paulding hospital building on West Memorial Drive, and the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks. The county even built their own morgue on this site.
The Paulding County Jail itself is about as secure as a jail can be, with two hundred forty (240) modular steel cells, detention hollow metal doors, detention frames, security hardware, locking devices, security glass/ glazing, security electronics, detention furnishings, and detention accessories.
The jail houses individuals both before and after they are sentenced, and offers programs such as substance abuse programs. They are allowed to make and receive video and regular phone calls, receive and send mail, email and texts from jail provided tablets and receive money that can be used to buy hygiene products and snacks from the jail commissary.

Collect Calls
Collect calls allow you to accept and pay for calls to your land line (only) phone account. This means that if you accept your call from your inmate, all the charges for that call will then be billed to your land line phone account and will show up and be listed on your next local phone bill. Additional fees, costs, restrictions may apply.
Prepaid calls (Direct Calls)
With Prepaid Calls you can set up your account so that the inmate can only call you and/or you can just deposit money in their account and they can purchase prepaid phone cards through their commissary and call whoever they choose, provided the Paulding County Jail approves of the phone number.
