After sentencing those who are committed to a short detention may remain in the facility while those who are sentenced to a longer sentence, or the maximum of two years will be transferred to the local Youth Development Campus. Though it is a short term facility it still has full services and offers a wide range of care, treatment, and rehabilitation opportunities along with educational and vocational training. Medical staff and contracts offer full medical treatments, mental health professionals offer mental health support, and both group and individual counseling is provided. Mail: While mail is permitted, letters are subject to search and there are strict rules around their delivery and contents. Mail must be addressed to the youth it is intended for, along with their ID number, at 130 Haralson Rd, Cordele, GA 31015. Phones: Each juvenile is allowed a list of people they may call and their phone numbers, and only those numbers that are approved will be permitted to make or receive calls from the youth. Visitation: Both onsite and remote video visits are permitted and can be completed using tablets or smartphones provided by the facility. When a youth has completed their orientation, and their schedule is set their approved visitors will be provided with visitation times.
