Macon Regional Youth Detention Information

Macon RYDC is a regional youth facility that is used for temporary housing of youth who are waiting for their court date, or who are waiting to be transferred to a long term facility to serve their sentence. There are a series of these facilities, and each serves a grouping of local counties to provide the best services possible for the area. Macon Regional Youth Detention Center serves the areas of Baldwin, Bibb, Butts, Crawford, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Monroe, Peach, Twiggs, Upson, and Wilkinson. By combining the efforts of these communities there is a larger, more up to date facility than any could provide on their own. All staff are well trained and have ongoing education each year, and all basic needs of the residents are provided for from nutrition and education to counselling, addictions treatments, and family reunification efforts. Educational services are provided by the local school district to ensure that those who are within the facility will maintain pace with their classes and easily transition back after their release. Address: 4164 Riggins Mill Rd, Macon, GA 31217, United States Any mail received by residents will be checked for contraband and may be refused delivery based upon the contents. Refused mail will be returned to the sender or destroyed. Phones: The resident youth will be provided with access to devices with which they can call home during their assigned times, which will vary by their schedule, and these devices are also capable of video calls to remain in closer contact with their parents and immediate family. Only approved numbers may be called. Visitation: Visiting hours vary depending upon the youth and their programs and schedules. For this reason, each family will be provided with the times they may have in person or video visitation after the youth has been booked and gone through orientation.
