Denver County Jail operates around the clock and is fully staffed at all times, for questions regarding an inmate or a program they can be contacted at 720-913-3600. Throughout the building all staff are well trained, and the focus remains on safety, security, and preparing inmates for their reintegration into the community when they are released.
Programs such as journaling, human services outreach, religious counseling, reentry services and preparation, mental health support, and GED and other educational opportunities are present at both Denver County Jail as well as its partner location Denver Downtown Detention Center.
Within the county jail there is also substance abuse programming, including relapse prevention and yoga.
Using direct supervision in the housing units also provides an opportunity for inmates to witness and engage in positive social interactions, to develop working relationships with those they are surrounded by each day, and it reduces negative incidents and provides a fast reaction time to anything that may arise.
Fresh bread is baked each week, and all meals are healthy and balanced, cooked onsite and provided are three meals each day. Special diets for medical or religious reasons are accommodated.

At Denver County Jail visits are up to 30 minutes and may occur twice a week, with onsite visits being Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 12pm –8pm, and remote videos visits are Monday through Sunday 7am-10am, 11:30am-2pm, and 5:30pm-9pm.

Video Visitation allows 'approved' friends, family members, attorneys and clergy of an inmate to connect with them using their computer, Securus Video Visitation app, or ‘on-site’ kiosk.

What is the Cost of a Remote Video Visit?
Costs vary and are subject to change, but generally visits range from $5.00 to $15.00 for a 15 to 30 minute online or on-site video visit.
How do you know if your Inmate will be available during the time you schedule?
The Securus system knows the times that Denver County Jail inmates are available for remote video visits.
It will not allow you to schedule a visit with your inmate if they are not available or the video visitation kiosk(s) in the jail are booked already.

Newspapers
Newspapers may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher.
Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
Books
The Denver County Jail allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Denver County Jail standards will be disposed of.
Hard cover books will not be accepted by the jail due to their potential to be used as a weapon.
