⇓ Learn more ⇓ Show lessThe multi-story red brick building that hosts the 73-bed Delta County Detention Facility welcomes visitors to the combined jail and Sheriff’s Office with a well manicured lawn and mature trees that offer shade to the few windows that are present.
The Delta County Sheriff office is responsible for the management and operation of the Delta County Detention Facility and it houses the offenders who are arrested on charges that are either misdemeanor or felony levels, and they remain at the location both as they await their trail and as they serve their sentence.
Upon intake, the booking process is completed, which includes a medical screening, fingerprinting and mugshots, DNA sample, along with an assessment to determine security needs, medical needs, mental health requirements, and housing assignment.
Staff is available to transport all inmates to court dates and any medical appointments or emergency needs, as well as inspecting all mail for contraband, receiving commissary funds and other money for inmates, maintaining the safety of the community and the security of the facility, and other tasks.
Once bond has been determined by calling the jail at 970-874-2021, it can be paid by credit card in the lobby, or online.
Medical care is provided as needed and for ongoing care, support groups and other mental health services are available, along with self help courses and other programs.
Visits will be scheduled around the schedule of the inmate you wish to visit and should be accessed and booked through the online portal which will then provide the available visitation slots. All visits are video and must be done remotely.
