The Marvin W Foote Youth Services Center serves the entire county and houses all youth who are between the ages of 10 and 17 years old that are arrested, waiting for transfer to another location, or require temporary detention for their own safety or the safety of others. There are 37 beds available and that is the top capacity, with any additional young offenders requiring housing at other locations. A focus on social learning and CBT help youth to adapt to their situation and prepare for their reintegration into their community after they are released from the facility. Core classes are provided by the local public schools and no youth will fall behind their grade during their stay. Opportunities are offered to work as a team as well as to do individual work, and social and life skills are both corrected and developed. Recreation, physical activity, therapy, medical care, dental care, mental health support, and all meals are provided by the staff at the facility. Visitation: Visits are a key tool in rehabilitating the youth who are housed at this location, and visiting hours are provided for parents and guardians every weekday from 3pm-8pm.
