The lobby provides information to families, houses security clearance for visitation, and is the space where inmates are brought for booking and intake.
Once the intake has determined their medical needs, assessed mental health, and provided guidelines for their detention, they will be taken to their cell and later will be able to sign up for programs that will provide life skills, social skills, and several opportunities will be provided for learning and self growth.
It is the detention center that houses inmates who are general population as well as those who have additional or special requirements including medical requirements, violent offenders, those needing psychiatric care, and other, while maintaining the safety of each.
Staff are present around the clock each day of the year to provide full care for the population, to monitor the safety of each section, respond to medical or other needs, and to protect the surrounding community. Treatments for substance abuse are also offered, and counseling, along with other mental health support. The Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility is also the location where the electronic monitoring for home sentencing is and they provide the equipment for this purpose as well as ensuring that they are following all restrictions of their sentence.
Residents each have access to phones and are able to contact their family and friends provided they create and fund accounts online, or fund their accounts either in a kiosk, through mail, or online.
They are also provided with a tablet, allowing for them to access messages, photographs, video visits, and media throughout the day.
Visits are provided to maintain their support system outside of detention, and they are provided with 2 visits each week for 30 minutes each time with visits occurring 8:30am-11:30am, 1:30pm-4:30pm, and 7pm-9pm Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays with each housing unit having a different assigned day, and times that can be checked by calling the facility at 805-654-3335.

Video Visitation allows 'approved' friends, family members, attorneys and clergy of an inmate to connect with them using their computer, Securus Video Visitation app, or ‘on-site’ kiosk.

Costs vary and are subject to change, but generally visits range from $5.00 to $15.00 for a 15 to 30 minute online or on-site video visit.
How do you know if your Inmate will be available during the time you schedule?
