Los Prietos Boys Camp Information

Currently offering both a 120 day program and a 180 day program, the Los Preitos Boys Camp is set to close. It houses delinquent males who are between the ages of 14 and 18 and offers each an opportunity to earn their way out of the program through engagement, participation, and their behavior. The camp focused on learning new life skills, developing new capabilities, vocational training, counseling, volunteering and community service. It has strict rules and no tolerance for gang activity, disrespect, or other problematic behaviors and encourages positive social interactions. There is a strong focus on being a positive member of society and benefiting both family and community. The facility is set to close in 2023 and all youth who remain will be transferred to another facility for the remainder of their sentence. Mail: Mail is permitted, but it must adhere to all rules and be sent only through the US Postal Service with a full return address. Phones: One phone call is permitted each week and the length of that phone call depends upon their behavior and rewards throughout the week from 8 minut6es to 15 minutes. Only parents and guardians may be contacted in this way. Visitation: Parents, stepparents, grandparents, and immediate family are permitted to visit on Sunday between 10:30am and 12:30pm and Wednesday between 4pm and 6pm.

The Los Prietos Boys Camp allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Los Prietos Boys Camp standards will be disposed of.
