All inmates are taken through the Main Jail for their assignments, classification, and booking process then when they are assigned to a housing pod with those who are similar or the same classifications, they will remain in the Main Jail or be transferred to either the North Annex or the South Annex.
While housed, inmates will be under the care and control of the county detention staff and will receive all their meals, access to commissary, clothing and laundry, recreational space and activities, and several programs to assist in reducing recidivism and providing tools and skills that will be used throughout their future. These programs include substance abuse treatments and support groups, religious services, cognitive thinking, work attitude and behavior, relationship building, parenting, seeking employment, money management, interpersonal skills, reading and a library service, legal research access, community resources and services programming, health and wellness services, recreational programming, and much more.
The focus in Fresno County North Annex Jail is safety and security for the inmates, the staff, visitors, and the surrounding community, and reducing recidivism by providing skills and tools. Transition programs support those who are facing their release and assist them in reintegrating into the community efficiently. Phones: Phones are present either within the cells or in the common areas, and this allows inmates to call their family or friends each day when they are not in classes, working, or during meal times. Incoming calls are not permitted. Outgoing calls are permitted from 8am to 9:45pm.
Visitation: Visiting is based upon the jail assignment and the housing pod. Fresno County North Annex Jail visits occur Tuesday through Sunday with weekday visits occurring 8am-9:30am, 11am-12pm, or 12:30[,-5pm, and on weekends from 8am011:15am or 12pm-5:15pm.
