The mission of the Pulaski County Juvenile Detention Facility is to maintain a safe and secure facility for the rehabilitation of juvenile offenders from the county of Pulaski. By supporting the youth of the community, they are improving the lives of everyone in the area and reducing recidivism and reoffending. By keeping the young offenders close to their family and friends encourages their progress and helps to offer the mental and emotional support that provides better results and keeps a more positive environment within the facility. Youth who are aged between 10 and 18 years old can be referred from other counties as well, if space is available, however the focus on the needs of this county above others. There are two separate housing facilities, along with the administration, and each housing unit has a multiuse room. Both indoor and outdoor recreation areas are provided, there are classrooms for ongoing schoolwork, visitation areas for family visits, as well as a full staff. Medical, nutritional, and mental health needs are all provided for during detention.
