Faulkner County Juvenile Detention Center Information

The main goal of the Faulkner County Juvenile Detention Center is to over a safe facility in which youth can rehabilitate and to prevent delinquency in the future. They encourage positive choices and appropriate behavior for youth to give back to their community throughout their lives and transition easily back to their community after their detention. Working closely with the Juvenile Probation Program and the Juvenile Court, detention is the last option for juveniles who are not responding to alternative consequences, who are a danger to themselves or others, or are assigned to the detention center by the court for other reasons. Each youth who is entering the facility is provided with a risk assessment first, which began in 2015 to assist in better results for the juvenile offenders program. Since this assessment was launched there has been a significant reduction in the number of juveniles who find themselves in jail, reduced numbers of youth being committed to DYS, as well as a reduction in the cases that are filed. The success of this program has been positive for the entire community, and those who are not diverted successfully will await their trial, sentence, and serve any detention that they are sentenced too all in this facility. Mail: Mail is checked for anything that is against the rules for this faciltiy and inappropriate letters or content will be returned to sender or destroyed.
