There are three healthy meals each day and a snack, access to medical care at all times, and mental health support including group and individual counseling. During the week each of the students will attend the onsite classroom to continue their academic education, will participate in physical education, and will have recreational time and activities. Through their interactions and positive examples within the facility they will develop their social skills and will be taught how to make positive decisions, and they will also be encouraged to learn new life skills as well as coping skills. Youth are only detained for short periods of time, most often until their court date where they will be assigned to an alternative to detention, or where they will be assigned a short detention to improve their skills for building a life with healthy relationships and to reduce recidivism.
