About the Walworth County Jail

When the Walworth County Jail was built 1995 it had only 398 beds, but a 114 bed addition was built in 2003, bringing its total to 512 beds, which to this date it still has. The Walworth County Jail is a coed facility, and holds inmates charged with misdemeanors all the way up to murder. offender who are convicted and sentenced to less than one year will complete their sentences here, while convicted felons will be sent to prisons in the Department of Corrections. Offenders, such as those charged with homicide, will typically be fighting their cases while at the Walworth County Jail for 2-3 years before they have their trial, and if found guilty are sentenced and sent off to prison.

The jail is located at 1770 County Rd NN, Elkhorn, WI 53121, which is also the mailing address, but when mailing an inmate, always add the inmate's name and SPN#.  You can reach them by phone 24 hors a day by calling 262-741-4510.

Visiting hours at the facility are allowed daily from 7:00AM to 7:00PM, are done by video and are free. If you are visting remotely from your own computer, also daily, you can visit until 9:25PM. Remote visits cost $0.25 per minute.
