About the Jackson County Jail

Operated by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the 95 bed Jackson County Jail is the detention facility for all offenders; pretrial inmates, those convicted and serving their sentence, and work release inmates, both on felony and misdemeanor charges. It provides housing units to meet the needs of the inmates and the community, using electronic monitoring for work release and home detention.

An inmate list is provided online, but the most current information is also available by calling the jail at 715-284-5357.

Once bond has been determined it may be paid at the facility by cash, money order, or cashiers check, or online.

Access to a canteen is also provided and friends or family can add money to this account onsite at the kiosk or online.

Books may be mailed to an inmate in paperback form only and it must be directly from the retailer, or it will be refused. All mail must have a return address, be sent via the US Postal Service, must not have any sexual or adult content, no perfume or scents, no staples or other items, and only money orders are accepted via mail for the commissary account.

Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
