About the Calumet County Correctional Facility

The Calumet County Correctional Facility is located in Calumet County and is under the management of the Sheriff’s Office. It can handle up to 128 beds if they double bunk some areas, and 88 beds if they don't, but t's a far cry from their old jail which only had a 55 bed capacity. The jail and sheriff's office cost $35 million, and was finished in 2022.

It is at this location that all offenders, either misdemeanor or felony, will be housed until they make bail, are transferred or released, or finish serving a short sentence that is under a year.

Along with the basic services and programs that include meals, medical care, full mental health support, exercise and recreation programs, they also run the home monitoring program for those who are on house arrest, and the work release. Work release allows an inmate who has been approved or was sentenced to the work release program to leave the facility during their work shifts and return at the end of them to serve their sentence in that manner.

Set up Flash, then restart your computer and then go to Google Chrome on your desktop or laptop computer and log on to Inmate Canteen.
    Steps Inmate canteen Visitation:
    1. Go to www.inmatecanteen.com on a computer (not supported on mobile devices i.e. tablets, cell phones, etc)
    2. Log in, select your inmate, and select the Video Visit an Inmate option.
    3. You will be required to fill out a form, submit a driver's license picture and a picture of your face. Once submitted, Calumet County Correctional Facility will either approve or deny it.
    4. Once approved you will be all set to video visit!
    NOTES: Make sure you are allowing flash player to run in google chrome by selecting the lock icon to left of the browser. Flash Player needs to be set to “allow”. Then you can refresh the page and it should be good to go. If flash player is being blocked you will not be able to take a picture or see any video during the visitation.
