⇓ Learn more ⇓ Show lessFriday Harbor is the location of the 30-bed San Juan County Jail that is a temporary holding facility operated by the Sheriff Office. Upon arrest all offenders are brought to this location where they are booked and held for a short period of time, but they are transferred while awaiting their trial and to serve their sentence to the SCORE facility that is located in Des Moines, and is a group facility used by several cities in King County and surrounding counties with facilities that are too small for their incarcerated population.
Due to the temporary nature, there are not regular visiting hours so only immediate family are permitted to visit and it must be arranged directly with the facility. This location also operates the electronic home monitoring system that allows low risk inmates to serve their sentence at home with a GPS tracker to monitor their movement.
Inmate Mail: No mail is accepted at this facility due to the temporary nature of the holding facility.
Inmate Phones: Inmates will be permitted to call a friend, family member, or a lawyer after their arrest and booking, before they are transferred.
Visitation: Immediate family may contact the jail and ask to visit an inmate, however no official visits are provided due to the temporary nature of the facility.
Once arrested, the person is taken to San Juan County Jail for booking, a process that confirms identity, assesses charges, and determines if they will be released on their own recognizance, posted for bail, or held until court.

Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
Books
The San Juan County Jail allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the San Juan County Jail standards will be disposed of.
