About the Jefferson County Corrections Facility

The 80-bed Jefferson County Corrections Facility is located outside of town, directly across from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and provides secure and safe housing for all offenders arrested on either misdemeanor or felony charges as they wait for their trial or serve a short sentence, usually less than 12 months in length.

As they are at the facility, each offender will go through the booking process and will undergo an assessment to determine their housing assignment, immediate and ongoing health care needs, and mental health care required. Any concerns that require immediate responses will be addressed then, while others will be planned for the following days.

Healthy meals, recreational activities, social interactions, laundry, exercise, and access to commissary, phone calls, and visits are all provided throughout any length of incarceration and provide for the basic needs of all inmates.

Phone calls are only outgoing, and inmates will have access to calls during their daytime hours when they are not engaged in a class or program, and they will also be able to access messaging through an account that can be created and paid for online by any family member or friends.

The inmate account can have money added either at the lobby kiosk or through the online portal and this will allow inmates to purchase food, hygiene, and other items.

In order to access email with inmates and to schedule and participate in video visits either onsite or remotely, an account can be created from anywhere or accessed from the lobby at the kiosk. Visits occur for female inmates on Sunday 2pm-3pm and males 3pm-4pm and the kiosks are first come first served.
