Clark County Jail provides housing for minimum to maximum security offenders and provides a safe and secure environment for them to serve their term of detention. There have been many changes to the building and the program over the years, with additions and closures of beds to meet the current needs.

Upon arrival each detainee with first go through an assessment process during booking, to ensure that they are provided with the treatments and tools they need for rehabilitation including determining medical and mental health needs to arrange for treatment, address any special accommodations or dietary needs, and to determine the housing assignment that will best fit their needs and keep the jail and those within safe.
The medical unit takes care of the medical needs for each of the residents and ensures that both ongoing and newly occurring health concerns are addressed. Addictions treatment, counseling, support groups, and other rehabilitation efforts are ongoing and provided to all inmates, ensuring they are developing life and social skills that will be key to their future success.
Commissary is available to provide hygiene, recreational, and other items to all inmates and can be funded online.
Along with mental health care, having contact with an outside support system and remaining connected to their life outside of the jail is a key component to mental health and improves the safety of the jail.

Phones are also located in the common areas for inmates to call friends and family, though they are unable to have incoming calls, and phone accounts can be created online.
Currently only video visits are available, and inmates are permitted visits on each of their housing units visiting day for 35 minutes. Visitors must be on the approved list provided by the inmate which can be changed once a month during the first week, and housing pods have visits on the following days: F Pod, Sunday after 1pm, G Pod Saturday after 8am, A, C, and D Pods Sunday after 8am, and B and E pods, F Hall, and Medical on Saturdays after 1pm.
After an arrest, the individual is brought to Clark County Jail for the booking process. This procedure involves identifying the person, determining charges, and deciding whether they’ll be released on their own recognizance, posted for bail, or held until court.
Remaining silent is highly recommended, as anything said can later be used in court. Wait for legal advice before responding to questions.

Types of Phone Calls
Collect Calls
Collect calls allow you to accept and pay for calls to your land line (only) phone account. This means that if you accept your call from your inmate, all the charges for that call will then be billed to your land line phone account and will show up and be listed on your next local phone bill. Additional fees, costs, restrictions may apply.
Prepaid calls (Direct Calls)
With Prepaid Calls you can set up your account so that the inmate can only call you and/or you can just deposit money in their account and they can purchase prepaid phone cards through their commissary and call whoever they choose, provided the Clark County Jail approves of the phone number.
Quick Connect
Quick connect is an alternative to collect calls. It allows you to quickly pay for a phone call with your credit card. When your inmate calls you, follow the instructions from the automated voice system to pay for that one phone call, directly billed to your card.
