About the Sanpete County Jail
The Sheriff in Sanpete County is responsible for maintaining a safe place to visit and live, and they are the key agency responsible for the law enforcement and jail supervision within the county. When required they will work in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies and will house detainees for them as required. The jail is located directly within the Sheriff’s Complex, which is a large imposing grey concrete building surrounded by fencing. With only the first phase fully completed, there are additions already planned for the facility allowing the capacity to grow with the community. Currently there are 128 beds over 2 floors, and each cell block has 8 cells. Within each cell block there is also a day room, phone bank, and video terminals for video visitation to occur. The next expansion will include 2 more phases that will increase the capacity to 384. When built, the latest state of the art control software was installed including touch screens, mouse functions, and the ability to control the utilities in the cells, the doors, and all movement of each inmate. Video visits are also controlled through the main control room and can be ended if any rules are broken during the visit. This program allows for court visits to be done via video as well, further reducing the transportation and transfers of all inmates. Classrooms are included to further the education of inmates and work towards rehabilitation, as well as a chapel for the use of local religious leaders, as well as a fully fenced and secure yard for recreation. The medical department has one doctor and one RN who monitor the health and medical needs of each inmate through the clinic that runs twice a week. To visit an inmate there must be a scheduled visit that occurs between Monday and Saturday during the hours of 12pm to 4pm or 5pm to 6pm. Visits on Sundays will be between 9am and 11am, 12pm and 4 pm, or 5pm and 6pm. All in person visits must be approved by Friday at 4pm for the following week. To conduct a video visitation from home visit securustech.net to create an account for each visitor, then request the inmate that you wish to visit. An app can be downloaded for easy access, and once your visiting application has been approved the system will provide times that the inmate is available for visits. This same website allows for loved ones to fund the visitation account for the inmate they wish to visit with.

Inmate Money Accounts

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Sanpete County Jail?

There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:

Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.

Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Sanpete County Jail uses Jail ATM to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.

Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union. Call the Sanpete County Jail first as they may want you to do this online or at the jail kiosk instead.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.

PO Box 130
