About the Morgan County Jail
With just over 54 inmates at full capacity, the Morgan County Jail is located i8n Morgan, Utah, and functions as the local jail and detention facility for all locally arrested detainees. As a main holding facility, it houses those who are newly arrested and the booking process is completed at this location. It serves not only the sheriff in the county but also can and will house inmates who are arrested locally by other law enforcement agencies. Inmates will find themselves housed at this location both before their trial and after, and any who are serving a short sentence can be accommodated at this medium security facility. For those who require increased security measures or who are serving extended sentences, they may find they are transferred to a larger facility nearby where there is increased access to rehabilitation efforts via programming and educational opportunities. As a smaller facility there are several days available for visitation, each visit being 30 minutes long, and allowing visits that begin after 8am and end before 9pm. Visits are permitted each weekday, however there are no visitation hours on holidays. Inmate will have access to phones and can make outgoing calls both locally and long distance, with some local calls being free to complete. Calls are not permitted to be three way or conference calls, and must be 15 minutes each to allow access to the phones for every inmate. Visits may have 2 adults and 2 children and can take place up to three times each week, while phone calls are permitted daily and any visits from lawyers or attorneys do not count towards the limit on visits.

News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.

Books
The Morgan County Jail allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
Books must NOT contain images or content that are considered excessively violent, pornographic or obscene. Any book that does not meet the Morgan County Jail standards will be disposed of.
