The Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center has several responsibilities and provides many services to the youth and families of the community. First, it provides screening and investigating youth who are referred to determine if they are going to be charged with something, or if they require supervision or detention along with what type of supervision would be necessary. They will also provide referrals to counseling and other services for those who are involved in law violations. For any who are detained, either for the safety of themselves or others, or for rehabilitation purposes, the staff and facility provide safe, secure detention with a nurturing approach to interactions with all of the juveniles who remain in detention. During any detention in a residential treatment center, programs are offered to encourage changing behavior, therapeutic counseling is provided, and positive reinforcement is used throughout. Each of the programs, services, and approaches is intended to ensure a nurturing environment that will rehabilitate youth and help encourage them to be law abiding citizens. The Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
