Lake Granbury Youth Services is a privately owned facility that serves Hood County. Rated for a capacity of 95 juveniles, they accept both male and female juvenile offenders and house them both before and after their adjudication. A charter school, Lonestar Success Academy provides schooling through certified teachers to continue the education of all students who are being held at the location, including a GED program to assist each of the students in finishing their diploma. Classes run year round and focus on addressing any special education needs or other concerns. A strength based approach is instituted throughout the location, and they provide comprehensive assessments after admittance to ensure that the program is tailored to each individual and their specific needs. Traum informed care and cognitive behavioral approaches are taken throughout, but especially within the therapy that is offered to individuals, group sessions, and family therapy. Skill development is focused on in academics, athletics, vocational choices, and social skills.
