Angelina County Jail - Remote Video Visitation with your Inmate

Angelina County Jail uses the services of NCIC for remote video visitation.

In other words, you can visit your inmate in jail by using your home computer, as long as it is equipped with a microphone and camera that supports video.

When available, the jail also provides use of ‘video visit kiosks’ in the jail lobby if you do not have a computer at home. These ’on-site’ video visits are FREE.

Costs
NCIC Video Visitation fees are subject to change, but the cost to you is roughly $7.50 ($0.25 per minute) for a 30-minute visit + an additional fee of $2.00 for the connection.

On-site Visits are free.
Updated Visitation information is located at the front of the Jail. There are certain rules pertaining to Covid-19 prevention measures in place that must be followed during visitation hours at the jail. (Currently, during Covid-19 safety protocols, each person will be limited to 1 visit per day (within the 3 visits per week) to allow more people to be able to visit on visitation days.
Visitation is based on first come, first served basis.
Visitors may sign up 30 minutes before visitation starts and must be signed up 30 minutes before minutes before visitation ends.
Visitation Rules:
Each visitor must produce positive state issued identification. Picture type ID is preferred: However, any verifiable ID such as social security card, birth certificate or other form of ID as approved by the Jail Administrator is acceptable.
Visits are limited to 20 minutes.
Inmates can only have 3 visits per week.
No more than two visitors will be allowed in visitation room at one time, however, within this guideline, the inmate may have several visitors within the twenty minute period.
Don't bring anything in to the visit.

What is a video visit, and how do they work?

Video visitation, also known as remote visitation, is quickly becoming the preferred method for visiting an inmate in jail or prison for the following reasons:

•   It requires little to no staff, versus the staff required to move inmates to and from the visit and watch over the visit. It saves the Angelina County Jail money.
•   It removes any opportunity for contraband (drugs) to enter the facility.
•   It can become a profit center for the facility, given that the revenue generated by visits is shared with the jail.
•   While inmates prefer to see family and friends in person, video visitation allows them to visit with them more often, and on a whim.
